Game Review: Lollipop Chainsaw
Rating: 4.5/5
I was excited when my dad showed me this game while it was still being developed. I have been waiting for this game since about November of last year, and I must say I'm so glad I pre-ordered it.
First off, what gamer doesn't like games, zombies and women? I realize how bad that sounds coming from a female gamer herself, but its the truth. As a woman though, I find this game to be somewhat sexist and demeaning towards woman. I have a quote from a random person on Playfire about this game when I was discussing it, and when you think about it, it's true -
"The only thing I have a problem with is that she's a High School girl. Granted, she is purported to be 18 but there's a larger picture here. Regardless of her age, the game is teaching us to look at High School girls sexually and we all know that only a fourth of girls in High School are actually of age to have sex.
Furthermore, there's absolutely no reason this game couldn't have taken place on a college campus. You keep the schoolgirl setting, you keep the cheerleader facade. Everything stays the same except now the girls are almost all of age to have sex." ~ QU4ND2RY, Playfire user.
I loved the game. I mean, I'm not much of an achievement hunter nor am I the gamer who constantly replays games, however I am currently trying to get all the achievements for LC and have replayed it four times. I really enjoyed this game.
Lollipop Chainsaw is about Juliet, a smoking hot cheerleader who comes from a family of zombie killers, who goes to school on her eighteenth birthday only to realize there was a zombie outbreak. I cannot go much further than that without ruining the game for you.
The story was amazing, however I wish the game gave you an option, after you played through once, to be able to play other characters in the game like her sisters and even her dad. I would have loved to play Cordelia. I thought some of the bosses were really tough, more specifically I had trouble the most with Zed when he was on the speakers.
I do wish that WB would have added some kind of online game play, whether that had been co-op campaign or a multiplayer like Left 4 Dead I & II.
WB left this game open, so it is very possible that we see a LCII in our distant future.

Game Review: GoW 3
Rate: 5/5
Next to L.A. Noire and Bulletstorm, two of my favourite games, comes Gears of War 3. I didn't ever play the first two because honestly, they seemed blech on television and whatnot but with my last gamer girl haul at Game Stop, I decided to give Gears a try.
I cannot say this enough, but I absolutely adored the campaign in this. It pissed me off in some places like with the Queen of the Locusts came on her stupid ass flying locust, but other than that, it was nothing but big guns, big soldiers and big muscles, which I love.
My favourite character was Anya. For some reason, I cannot lay a finger on it, she reminds me of myself. I wish you had the option of who you played in story mode.
Multiplayer mode is awesome. I personally would rather spend days on Beast/Horde modes than the casual versus, but the TDM in this game is a LOT more fun to play that the TDM in most shooter games like COD and BF.
This game, overall, gets a five out of a possible five. Definitely one of the best!

Game Review: Battlefield 3
Rate: 2/5
As much as I loved other DICE games like Medal of Honor and Bad Co. 2, I expected BF3 to be better than both combined. As sad as I am to say this though, I was highly disappointed in DICE and this game.
I expected too much out of this game. It was such a disappointment.
The game's campaign mode was pretty bad ass in my opinion and I actually really, really, REALLY enjoyed playing it. It seemed to make the days go by so much faster. I'm glad DICE added the F2000 into BF3; that may be because it's my favourite gun in Infinity Ward's MW2, but I am glad they added that (and other) weapon!
The multiplayer modes, however, are what killed this game. I know BF3 is supposed to be 'the most realistic game ever created', but in all honesty, the online modes were anything but that. I have played this online only twice. Everytime I, or my clanmates/team, would go to shoot someone, it would automatically make us prone which, in the end, gave the enemy team the kill. WHAT BULLSHIT IS THAT DICE? I have looked on the BF3 forums and HAVE found out that it isn't just my copy doing that either, though people will disagree. I feel like some of the guns are overpowering and the maps are too small and/or camper's paradise.
So, with all that BS pushed aside, this game gets a two out of five.

Game Review: LA Noire, Rockstar Games
Rate: 5/5
I didn't know what to expect from Rockstar's game, L.A. Noire, especially since, through personal experience, their games tend to be very slow however this game exceeded my expectations.
I really enjoyed the game from the beginning! At first, the game was really slow and I was unsure how to do everything, but within an hour or so, I was hooked. Since I purchased the game brand new from Game Stop, I got some free DLC and well, that's always nice.
This game took me about three days of non-stop gaming to complete and I was so sad when I had finished the three disc game, but it was so worth the 3 days of playing with limited bathroom breaks.
The only disappointing thing, in my opinion, was the lack of a multiplayer mode. It would have been so easy to create a multiplayer for this game. It could easily have been like team deathmatch with Criminals v. Cops. How fun would that have been?
Overall, this game gets a perfect five with no shame whatsoever.

Game Review: Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Game Rate: 4/5
I know that DICE's game, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was released quite awhile ago, but I just actually began playing it tonight and I'm already finished with the campaign.
I really enjoyed the campaign mode on this game. When it first came out, I purchased my copy and started playing it and got too frustrated and quit.on like the second chapter. I have now wiped the dust off and gave it another try only to find out, this game is actually quite entertaining and fun, yet frustrating.
What I found frustrating was the sniper rifles being bolt action only and driving the tanks. Just like in any shooter game I play, I despise bolt actions. Personally, they are way too slow between shots and I'm a girl who just likes to shoot everyone in sight within a certain amount of time.
As for the tank driving, I found it frustrating how horribly the tank aimed and turned corners. Like, it took me FOREVER to turn around.
Overall for the campaign though, it was non-stop action which caused me to spend SIX hours straight playing it this evening. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes hooligans, jokes and of course, war.
Aside from the single player mode, DICE also added a new kind of deathmatch ~ squad.
I personally am a girl who likes more people to kill and more people to help me kill, but overall I think the multiplayer game modes are alright. I do like how DICE gives you the option on where to spawn. Infinity Ward should take some notes from DICE's game creation skills.
Overall, I give this game a whopping 4 out of a possible 5, only because perfection doesn't exist.

Game Review: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Rating: 3/5
Infinity Ward's latest release, Modern Warfare 3, was highly anticipated to be one of the BEST games of the year. Some people would agree, however most, like myself, disagree.
I personally think that the game is more like an add on rather than a new game. Why? Because IW didn't fix all the issues that we saw in the previous CoD's.
MW3's campaign IS epic, I will say, however the online multiplayer game modes are disappointing. I do like how they added community playlists such as Drop Zone and Infected but I hate how they made the game unfair, which really makes the game not fun for its players.
IW added a lag compensation to the online multiplayer game modes. For those who don't know what that is, it makes us gamers with a great internet connection lag more than those with a poor connection, giving those players with crappy internet a better chance at killing us with the great connections.
IW has NOT fixed the spawn points what-so-ever. I will die, I come back and immediately die again because they spawn me in front of an enemy. Also, IW has made certain maps easy to hold down with just two people. (ie; Interchange) They have made it so easy to camp.
Don't even get me started on the camper's favourite equipment item, the trophy system. I mean, come on IW! At least let us be able to knife the thing!
IW also has yet to change the coding of MW so that the modders and aim botters cannot play in the same lobby as us fair players.
The first week MW3 was out, Microsoft banned about 6,000 users for modding and aim botting in the online lobbies. People wonder why there are so many people modding and aim botting in MW3 and I can tell you, it's because IW uses the same coding they did in the previous ones making the same bots and mods able to be used in the new game.
Generally speaking, I love the game, but I think that CoD: Black Ops was much better. That could be because Treyarch makes better games or just because IW hasn't fixed much of anything. Either way, I rated this game a three out of five stars for the maps, weapons and campaign.
